June 2019

The bride loved purple! And as you can see against the old stone and redwood beams of the barrel room in the +130 year old castle Greystone it made for a stunning wedding for these two. Reopened in 1995 as the St. Helena campus of the Culinary Institute of America, CIA Greystone has so many options for everything from elopements to weddings and events for over 500 people.

For the ceremony, the bride didn’t want the traditional Bride-vs-Groom side setup. So we set the chairs in the round to be an inclusive circle of their family and friends.

a Unique Barrel Room Wedding at CIA Greystone

EV Floral Design adorned the barrel room and the bridal party with beautiful purples and sages the perfectly accented the old stone building.

Taking advantage of the space, we were able to stage different areas to make an evening that flowed around the expanse of the barrel room. Yet, kept the space intimate. For the kids (and adult kids) we staged a game area with dominoes, Yahtzee, Nuns on the Run and more.

A unique favor for each guest was the little jars of locally harvested honey with little wooden honey dippers. Guests enjoyed the wedding well beyond just that dreamy evening in June.

An alternative accent to the traditional wedding cake, Terri & Eric offered a “Candy Bar.” Stacked with big glass jars and fish bowls of hard candies, taffy, gum balls and the like.

As you can see by the gallery, this was a unique and magical night fit for a fairy princess.
